Biography

A classically trained pianist and daughter of professional musicians, Chloë grew up deep in the middle of the english countryside with no tv, but plenty of books, theatre, musical siblings and a lot of records to plunder.

The sound of her mum practising the piano was the soundtrack to her life. Amidst a fair amount of emotional fallout from the family breaking up, she started to improvise and write songs and record them in her brother's caravan at the bottom of the garden.

As well as building up an enormous catalogue of original songs and studying Drama and Playwriting, Chloë has composed music for many theatre productions including her one-woman show 'Words in Her Mouth' which she toured. Gigs of her songs have included the International Festival of Women in Music and Guildford International Music Festival with a twelve-piece band.

As keyboard player with 'Cousteau' in 2005 Chloë toured the U.K and Italy, appearing at venues such as Bush Halls, King Tuts, The Borderline, the amphitheatre at Recanati, Rome, Puglia, Sardinia, Tarvisio and in the video of 'Sadness' and on live tv, radio etc...

Chloë's album 'Snowdrop' (released 2004 Powderkeg Records) combines her love of the piano with gorgeous harmonic shifts, deep waves of electronic sound, french horns, cello/strings and visual imagery. The poetry and imagery of the lyrics inform every song. It is an evocative and powerful first album, with an atmosphere of lyrical english melancholy and goosebump-inducing beautiful vocals

Chloë is currently working on a new album due for release 2008 (- new tracks are on rotation at myspace) She has arranged, performed and produced the album herself - a culmination of 4yrs of writing, distilling the music and learning the technology. The album will be for sale on this website as a CD and across the internet digitally.

Also recently composed and produced is a 40min original score for the dance/theatre piece 'realPolitik', choreographed by Julie Hope, London premier at the Michaelis Theatre, Roehampton University. The music will be available as a CD later in the year.

If you're a choreographer/film-maker interested in commissioning new music, using any of Chloë's tracks or using the 'Politik' music please email for further info

Also recently recorded are guest vocals on two tracks by the band Glassacre from Western Australia - these will be on their album 'without sleep' due for release 2008
